Redis is the premier in-memory data store for leaderboards, user session persistence, and object caching. Because default configurations lack authentication and memory caps, hardening is vital.

1. Password and Memory Quota Configuration#

Define `requirepass` and `maxmemory` explicitly inside `/etc/redis/redis.conf`.

/etc/redis/redis.conf
# Guclu bir sifre atayin:
requirepass GucluBirRedisSifresi2026!

# Bellek doldugunda sunucunun kilitlenmemesi icin maksimum RAM siniri (orn. 1GB):
maxmemory 1gb

# Bellek doldugunda en az kullanilan eski anahtarlari temizle:
maxmemory-policy allkeys-lru

Separate Redis service

Redis is opened as its own plan under the Managed Database category. You do not install an OS or configure redis-server; the credentials appear on the Database card of the service detail page.

Paneldə harada? Pick the Redis plan under Pricing > Managed Database; the RAM size is set by the plan.
Addım-addım icra:
  1. 1Open a Redis plan with the RAM you need from the Managed Database category.
  2. 2Take the host, port and password from the 'Database' card on the service detail page.
  3. 3The connection is not encrypted; keep the password in your app's environment variables and do not connect from a public client.
  4. 4Plan for what happens when memory fills using the maxmemory-policy section of this guide -- cache data is not durable.
