How to Upload Your Discord Bot?

Upload your files, set the start command and get your bot running.

Beginner4 minUpdated:5 October 2026

In brief

  • Upload files via file manager or pull from Git.
  • Set the startup command for your entry file in the plan settings.
  • Dependencies install on the first run.
  • Keep your token secure as an environment variable.

You can upload your bot files from the panel or pull them from a Git repository. You must set the start command in the plan settings.

Entry File and Command#

Node.js bots usually use index.js and Python bots use main.py. The start command of your plan must point at that file.

bash
node index.js
python3 main.py
java -jar bot.jar

Installing Dependencies#

If you upload a package.json or requirements.txt file, the application dependencies are installed automatically on the first run.

Token Security#

Never hard code your bot token. Define it as an environment variable. A token written into the source is compromised the moment you share your files.

javascript
const token = process.env.DISCORD_TOKEN;
client.login(token);
